Hey Y’all and Happy Friday!
This past March 8th was International Women’s Day, a day showcasing the work of how women Can and Do make a difference in progressing gender equality and empowerment. I mention this because God chose this particularly special day to smile on me and most importantly, on Gertrude’s House and I am overwhelmed with joy!
On behalf of The Georgia Women’s Legislative Caucus, the 8th Annual Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award Breakfast took place on the above date and I was recognized at the event. The Honorable Kimberly Alexander of The Georgia House of Representative-District 66 presented me as her nominee, with the Nikki T. Servant Leadership Award. Additionally, I was also recognized with a House Resolution 319 Award from The State of Georgia House of Representatives. Lastly, The State of Georgia Secretary, Brad Raffensperger proclaimed me, BRENDA GRISSOM as an Outstanding Georgia Citizen, I am humbled, all praises go to God for acknowledging me and more importantly, Gertrude’s House for this honor.
Special thanks go out to Councilwoman, Dr. LaShun Burr-Danley. I truly can’t thanks her enough for her unwavering support and for recommending me for the Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award. Her belief and encouragement in our Gertrude’s House mission mean the world to me.
To “EVERYONE”, your unwavering support and belief in me throughout the years is a true blessing, both to me and to countless people that Gertrude’s House represents. Thank you, Thank You, Thank You!!!
